Pumpkin Hair Clip RibbonTutorial

Labor Day has come and gone and with that here in Colorado we say goodbye to summer, and Hello Fall!  I LOVE the Fall and have quite a few projects in mind.  One super easy project that I wanted to do was make a few ribbon hairclips that I remembered seeing last year on the blogosphere but never got a chance to make.  I didn't have a tutorial or anything--just kind of made these up as I went but I think they turned out pretty darn cute!  Figured I'd share how I made them just for fun--here's my version of these PUMPKIN HAIRCLIPS:)

First, take your ribbon and make a circle around your finger.  Like this:
Use some hot glue and put it on the top so your circle stays intact.:)  Make another loop--add some glue like you did before.  Repeat this step until you have your desired number of loops.  This is the body of your pumpkin.  Set aside.

Next, take some green ribbon and make a circle.  Use some glue to make the circle stay and cut off excess ribbon.
Smash the circle in the center so your ribbon looks like this--these are your pumpkin leaves.  Add a dab of glue in the center to make it stay looking like this:
Take another piece of ribbon--about the same size as your other piece of green ribbon--and fold over the edges on both sides--glue down.
Now take both pieces of green ribbon and put them together like this--add some glue to both sides to hold it together:)
 Like this:
Glue the green to the top of the orange and there you go!  Glue this down onto a ribbon covered alligator clip and you've got yourself Cute Cute Cute Pumpkin Hairclip.
I'm thinking we're going to have to do lots of pigtails this year:)

After making the pumpkin hair clips I came up with these 'lil gals.  I'm in LOVE with their lashes:)
My girls absolutely love the pink and purple ones...
OK--it was windy and cold(Told ya it was fall here!) so ignore the windblown pics and grumpy kids--I forced them to stop jumping on the trampoline to let me take these 'glamour shots":)  These clips are even cuter when you see them on!

So, there's my first project for the fall--stay tuned because there are LOTS more to come!

Flower Hair Clips

Every Spring I LOVE to shop around all the craft stores--and even some decor stores, to seek out the new and 'too cute to say no to' flowers.  I always buy too many because my girls HAVE to have the option of pig tails with every outfit.:)  This year was fun though because my oldest daughter helped me put them together.  That's how easy they are!  Just had to show off a few of them--I love this time of year!
Don't you LOVE those purpley ones?

I think these were my favorite finds--they're different than any my girls have and I found these darling jewels that were just the right size!  Peony's rock!
 Mini Gerberas are a must!!

See, aren't they so so cute?  They'll just have to wear LOTS of pigtails this year!

Enjoy Spring while it lasts!!

Bow Holder

Becky and I found this gorgeous idea Ribbons & Lace in Arizona. When you have as many clips as we do, you have to have a cute place to put them. We pulled out our stash and dug for fun ribbon. We started with the darling pink girlie one. Then we had to do a fun colorful one. Lastly, I wanted to do this vintage black, white & brown one. I LOVE them all! Becky and I could not decide which one we liked the best!

Ribbon Hairbows

So, I have been making these for YEARS....well, ever since I had my little Lexie who is 4 now.  I actually took a fun class at this really cute store in Arizona...maybe you've heard of it?  Ribbons & Lace?  Anyway, I LOVE that store.  Everytime I go to Arizona, I have to stop by.  Some of these gems I picked up there last time I was in the neighborhood.

Like I said, Juliana and I are having this open house next week and we will have tons of these to choose from!  These are your more traditional bows but with our funky flair.  Don't these just make you smile?

These are our most typical sizes--big and small.  Personally, I'm a fan of the big--but I always lean towards things that are more bold--you know, the things that make a statement....Ok OK!  I like to show off!  But if you've seen how cute my girls are, you know why!:) I know, I'm biased.;)

But seriously, Isn't this Mocha Stripe to die for?
 Or this Hot Pink Houndstooth!?!
 Gumball Pink Anyone?
This Yellow Sunshine makes me SUPER EXCITED FOR SPRING....I am so ready for permanent Sunshine!
And, here I am in my ridiculously messy craft room.  No judging please!  I can't be creative and clean at the same time!  It's impossible--ask my husband!  I have spent hours upon hours in here!  Mostly during naptime and after hours....but don't you think it was worth it?  Well, I DO!
